Work-from-Home Scam Alert: The Job That Costs You Everything

Work From Home Fraud Alert by Shreeshaya IT Literacy And Cyber Security

“Don’t Let a Job Scam Be Your First Job Experience.”

In today's digital world, thousands of young people are searching for part-time or work-from-home jobs. Unfortunately, scammers are taking advantage of this desperation. They reach out through Telegram, WhatsApp, and even Instagram, offering fake jobs with promises of easy money and quick payouts. But once you fall into their trap, you’re left with financial loss, emotional stress, and zero support.

How the Scam Works (Step-by-Step Breakdown)

  • You get a message on Telegram/WhatsApp offering a part-time job like “₹1,000/day for simple tasks”

  • They ask you to “register” by paying a small amount – ₹500 to ₹5,000

  • They may send fake payment proofs or task screenshots to gain your trust

  • Once payment is made, either they block you, or send another task that demands more money

  • Eventually, they disappear — and your money is gone.

Most common fake jobs include:

  • Liking YouTube videos

  • Amazon product rating tasks

  • Google reviews

  • Crypto trading “help”

  • Prepaid recharge jobs

  • Instagram following campaigns
