Victims of hackers in charging credit cards! Lakhs of money missing from accounts

The hackers identified themselves as people from the credit card department and talked to the young woman. The young woman installs the Any Desk app on her mobile.

A young woman from Balurghat lost Tk 6.5 lakh after being a victim of cyber fraud. In February, after receiving such a complaint, the police of Cyber Crime Police started investigating the incident. Finally, on Tuesday late night, the police of Cyber Crime Police arrested a total of 5 people from different parts of South Dinajpur district. The arrested 5 people were taken to the Balurghat district court on Wednesday, after which the judge ordered the 4 people to be in police custody for 13 days. The other one was released on bail. Police of Cyber Crime Police got the whereabouts of the inter-state gang after interrogating 4 people caught in the fraud ring.

According to police sources, the young woman was searching on Google for how to reduce credit card charges. At that time, the hackers identified themselves as people from the credit card department and spoke to the young woman. Assured her that they are from credit card department. The young woman then installed the Annie Desk app on her mobile as per the hackers. Hackers share OTP. After that, 6.5 lakh rupees disappeared from the young woman's account.
